What is Candida?

Candida albicans is a yeast, a type of fungus that lives in everyone’s body. Our intestines have both good and bad bacteria at all times, and when these are in balance our gut is happy. And keeping our gut happy and healthy is important since it’s where our body absorbs nutrients and minerals from the food we eat. If fact, Hippocrates believed that “all disease begins in the gut.” But when the balance of our gut bacteria is off, meaning that the bad has overtaken the good, health problems occur.

What Causes Candida Overgrowth?

About Alison

Hi, I’m Alison, a Natural Foods Chef who specializes in Gluten-free, dairy-free and Candida Diets. I graduated from The Natural Epicurean in Austin, Texas in 2010 and started a personal chef business in Los Angeles in 2011. Shortly after, I started experiencing a candida overgrowth. I was experiencing chronic fatigue, stomach bloating, weight gain, brain fog and more. Luckily in 2013 I started cooking for Naturopath Ann Boroch in my personal chef business and ultimately she helped me heal my body naturally through diet. Since then I’ve honed my business in on Candida and have cooked for, coached and given cooking lessons to people all over Los Angeles and beyond.

    The book is well done, the recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I would not have thought eggs with kale would be a tasty combination, but yes it works. Pancakes yum, kale salad yum, carrot muffins yum, turkey and cabbage sauté yum, etc…need I say more ?. I have purchased for a few of my friends who have dietary issues or want to eat healthy.
