After almost two years of working closely with author and Naturopath Ann Boroch, C.N.C., who wrote “The Candida Cure,” its sister book – an accompanying cookbook – is finally here! In this cookbook, Ann, with my help providing the recipes, presents a single place to find a wide variety of dishes to combat the dreaded yeast problem. The Candida Cure Cookbook is, as stated on Amazon.com, “filled with the recipes, resources, and tips you need to take control of one of the most important yet overlooked obstacles to optimal health: candida, or yeast, overgrowth.”
Ann is a homeopath and award-winning author who wanted to continue sharing her candida expertise with the public and those many people out there who suffer the symptoms and consequences of uncontrolled or unaddressed candida in the digestive system. Candida unknowingly causes a great number of health conditions including fatigue, bloating, leaky gut, irritable bowel syndrome, allergies and sinusitis to name a few. It also is linked to contributing to depression, anxiety, eczema, brain fog, and autoimmune disease.
The Natural Tasty Chef Contributes:
My website provides a good overview:
“Candida albicans is a yeast, a type of fungus that lives in everyone’s body. Our intestines always have both good and bad bacteria at all times and when these are in balance our gut is happy. It is when the bad bacteria start outnumbering the good bacteria that we get into trouble.
“Causes can include the use of antibiotics (anti-bacteria). Antibiotics have their purpose if you absolutely need them, but they can wipe out all of your bad and your good bacteria. So, if we do not follow up with some good quality pro-biotics after taking a round of antibiotics, we create the perfect place for bad bacteria to take over.
Other ways to destroy good bacteria include swimming in chlorinated water, taking birth control, eating highly processed and refined sugars and carbohydrates, air pollutants, and stress.”
Ann Boroch’s first book provided an outline of what candida is, what it can do to your body, and what you could do to prevent that. It was pretty well-received, as evidenced by reviews on Goodreads.com. A sample: “Millions of Americans suffer from a host of afflictions, never realizing that what they eat could be the cause. After struggling with cutting numerous allergens from my diet in order to heal many of the problems afflicting me, a naturopath suggested going on a yeast cleanse. Suddenly, after just a week, I could feel a change. When looking for a book to read more, I came across Ann Boroch’s ‘The Candida Cure: Yeast, Fungus & Your Health: The 90-Day Program to Beat Candida & Restore Vibrant Health.’ The information in this book was eye-opening, and it is one I will definitely recommend to others.”
The new cookbook aims to provide actual recipes to make your body feel better while also pleasing your taste buds. The recipes, I must say, provide meals that are nutritious and also taste very good. They are also free of gluten, sugar, dairy and yeast. Dairy, as you know by reading my writings, is something I am convinced is unhealthy for us to consume.
Don’t Feed the Beast
The Candida Cure Cookbook explains how consuming the right foods means items that do not feed yeast and fungus. The best foods also do not create inflammation and don’t feed candida. The book’s recipes result in meals that “reset your body’s balance, and restore your vitality.” The recipes offer alternatives for those who have tried numerous approaches to dealing with candida but have yet to find relief. It also helps those who want to lose weight but have a hard time dealing with it, whether through hunger, or losing energy.
Ann provides a simple four-week menu plan to help ease into a changed diet you can stick with. The book also provides information about foots to avoid, and recommendations on what to eat – of course. It suggests products and equipment, and even tips for stocking your pantry correctly to ensure consistent preparation of these healthy meals.
There are more than 140 recipes in it – yes, I’ve been very busy along with preparing ultra-healthy meals for families all over Los Angeles, and teaching yoga when I have free time. We even included some amazing guilt-free desserts!
I am thrilled that The Candida Cure Cookbook is finally available for public consumption. Beyond the hard work and all the time it took to put it all together, I’m happy for Ann, and that these recipes and additional information about candida is more widely accessible by everyone to benefit from it. My whole business – and life, for that matter – focuses on helping people achieve their optimal health. Not only healthy physically, because some people can attain that by just working out or eating a little better. But the whole package, internally too! I think The Candida Cure Cookbook aligns well with my goals, and hopefully even more people take advantage and start to make decisions that will truly improve their lives.
